Making for quite the star-studded affair, a bevy of celebrities showed up for the taping of “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute” at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday night (November 22).
Among those on hand for the event were Taylor Swift, Jessica Biel, Cameron Diaz, Kate Beckinsale, Selena Gomez, Salma Hayek and Meg Ryan, along with performances by John Legend and Alicia Keys.
During the red carpet event, Liz McCartney of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, received the honor of 2008 CNN Hero of the Year for her dedication to helping survivors of Hurricane Katrina rebuild their homes.
“To the country and the world, I ask you to please join us,” McCartney said. “Together we can continue to rebuild families’ homes and lives. ... If you join us, we’ll be unstoppable.”
The show will be broadcast globally on Thanksgiving Day (November 27) via CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with Anderson Cooper acting as host of the ceremony.
